Nietzsche - Metaphors vs. Concepts Arpita Sharma

The binary I found in Nietzsche's work was "Metaphors vs. Concepts". In his effort to explain that "Truths are illusions about which it has been forgotten that they are illusions, worn-out metaphors without sensory impact, coins which have lost their image and now can be used only as metal, no longer as a coin," he uses the binary "Metaphors vs. Concepts". When referring to metaphors, he calls them a "concrete world of primary impressions, more solid, more universal, more familiar, more human...", regulartory, individual, unique, and original.  However, when discusses concepts, he refers to them as rigid regularity, with the severity and coldness of mathematics, building, fabrication of a new world of laws, privileges, subordinations, boundary determinations, rigidification, hardening, forgetting, etc. Through his use of the binary of "Metaphors vs. Concepts" he is able to show how man has created concepts, the gossemer for our cathedral by changing metaphors and forgetting their unique individual traits. The two binaries are important in revealing that Nietzche isn't against the idea of man viewing something and taking in impressions of it, but in creating concepts which only help in preserving the human race. He implies that concepts in themselves are lies because they only reveal what is important for humans, and therefore lack the capacity of creating full knowledge.
