Nietzsche strives to prove that there is no universal truth by using the binary of truths and illusions. He uses the binary in order to define and sum up his perception of what is truth. He states, "Truths are illusions about which it has been forgotten that they are illusions..." to strengthen his point. He supports his argument that truths are illusions by providing the example of the leaf being but a concept derived from an original form. If one were to assume that a concept is derived from personal experience then there is not a single truth but several truths pertaining to each individual. Therefore, one only has the illusion of truth.
